Active Campaign. Ik kocht laatst een pakket met uitleg over dit systeem en ik moet nog steeds aan de eerste video beginnen. Want voordat ik de voordelen allemaal had uitgespit en mijn eigen mails had aangepast, kreeg ik diverse nieuwsbrieven die me irriteerden… en waarvan ik het grote vermoeden had dat de afzender met Active Campaign was gaan werken. Hoe voorkom je dus dat Active Campaign, wat verschrikkelijk goed schijnt te werken voor je verkoop, irritant wordt?
Ik kan er niet zomaar wat mee, al die systemen die zorgen voor extra klanten en extra omzet. Want ik denk altijd: trek je aan de linkerkant dan niet net zoveel nieuwe mensen aan als dat je er aan de rechterkant weer afduwt omdat je ze irriteert? Dan kom je per saldo op hetzelfde uit, maar ben je ondertussen wel knap irritant!
Dat is natuurlijk niet het idee van al die systemen. Sterker nog, Active Campaign is er juist op gericht dat je steeds differentieert, zodat niemand in het oneindige jouw aanbod krijgt voor de training of het product dat ze al lang in huis hebben.
Goed. Daar zit wat in.
Het is ook wel grappig om op snelheid te differentiëren, zoals Active Campaign voorstelt. Iemand die zich inschrijft voor de challenge die over een week begint, zit nog 7 dagen te wachten… Dus, in theorie kun je diegene ook meteen een ander product aanbieden. Eenmalig, gewoon bij de bevestiging. Een kassakoopje zeg maar, lekker impulsief. Het opleuken van de wachttijd.
Het werkt, zeggen ‘ze’. Heel veel mensen kopen dit en ja, ik heb op die manier ook de uitlegserie over Active Campaign gekocht (en ontdekte later dat er talloze gratis filmpjes van zijn J ).
Maar ik heb nadien vaker zulke schermen gehad. En dan denk ik meestal: ‘Ja hoo eens even. Ik meld me net aan voor jullie gratis challenge. Laat eerst maar eens zien wat je in huis hebt voordat je me weer wat aanbiedt. Ik blijf de pinpas niet trekken!’
Het kan beide kanten op.
Voordeel: Active Campaign is erop gericht dat je de juiste aanbieding kunt doen en dat je juist voorkomt dat je dingen blijft aanbieden die iemand al gekocht/gedownload heeft.
Maar: ik vind het nog steeds irritant als ik dan mails krijg waarin staat: ‘hee, we zien dat je je nog niet hebt ingeschreven’. Ik wéét wel dat privacy niet meer bestaat. Maar ik wil het niet zwart op wit zien. En al helemaal niet van iemand die ik nog niet persoonlijk ken en die ‘alleen maar’ toestemming heeft gekregen om af en toe een mailtje in mijn postvak te stoppen, gevoelsmatig.
Denk jij erover om Active Campaign in te zetten voor je e-mailmarketing?
De technische mogelijkheden zijn enorm. Als je zelf een goede structuur bedenkt, kan het je heel veel opleveren en is het voor je lezers ook prettig.
Wat ik denk?
Volgens mij is het alleen handig als je nu al de kans loopt dat je lezers irriteert. Bijvoorbeeld doordat je trainer bent en steeds weer nieuwe cursusdata hebt, of online platforms, die je moet vullen.
Dan moet je wel herhalen en kun je irritant worden voor de klanten die al in je training geweest zijn. Aan de andere kant: juist die oud-cursisten zijn waarschijnlijk je grootste ambassadeurs die je berichten graag doorsturen naar hun eigen netwerk.
Dus, tja, ik ben er nog niet uit. Als ik tijd heb, duik ik alsnog in die video’s. Ik heb ervoor betaald tenslotte. En heb jij een mega-goede truc bedacht om je mails niet –irriterend te structureren? Dan hoop ik natuurlijk dat je hieronder jouw oplossing met ons deelt!

Toen ik zag dat je mail over Active Campaign gaat was ik getriggerd om het te openen. Dit omdat ik zelf ook met dit programma werk, partner ben en er trainingen in geef. Ik raad het anderen ook aan om te gebruiken. De resultaten die ik er mee haal zijn goed, en dat terwijl mijn lijst zeker nog een boost kan gebruiken. Het is een overzichtelijk programma met zoveel mogelijkheden. Het grote voordeel vind ik dat iedereen te segmenteren is en een label kan meekrijgen. Dit voorkomt dat ik mails naar mensen stuur wat niet van toepassing is.
